Just about every form of cooked fast food is liable to cause you to put on weight because they are almost all high in polyunsaturated fats, salt and sugars.
The high concentration of fats, salts and sugars are there to add flavor.
Before telling you how many calories there are in these foods, you should first consider that a healthy male requires about 2,500 calories a day and a healthy female roughly 2,000 calories a day.
Now consider these figures:
McDonalds calories - 3.8 oz Hamburger = 270 calories
Big Xtra with cheese = 810 calories
Burger King calories – 4.2 oz Hamburger = 320 calories
- Double Whopper (13.2 oz) with cheese = 1010 calories
Taco Bell calories – Country breakfast burrito, 4 oz = 270 calories
Taco salad w/Salsa, 19 oz. = 850 calories
Starbucks calories = cappuccino, low fat milk, short = 79 calories
20 oz Mocha, whole milk, venti = 508 calories
Subway calories – Deli Style breads 2.2 oz = 170 calories
Super classic Italian BTR 6”, 11.4 oz sandwich = 668 calories
Calories in pizza = º standard 12” pizza = 307 calories
º with extra cheese topping, 14”, deep dish = 745 calories
Some of these fast foods can give you nearly half of your daily calorie requirement in one portion. That’s without any extras.
If you’re serious about losing weight we recommend that you steer clear of fast food restaurants. But if eating in one is unavoidable, be careful what you select.
