About Us

March 20 to April 20

You should notice my attitude, right from the start. Achieving your Ideal Body is not a race. It is a continuous process. A downward spiral that is the result of good mentality, healthy eating and good exercise.

I am pleased with my achievements this month. I could have lost more weight, but just losing weight was not my main goal.

I am on a journey from 191 pounds down to 160 pounds. That is 31 pounds that I plan to lose over the course of 12 months. At the same time, I will reshape my body, adding more body strength, particularly to my upper body and I will reduce the size of my waist and backside.

In my first month I have changed my diet substantially. I am eating a lot more fruit and vegetables, particularly salads. I have drunk less alcohol and more water. Coffee has been replaced by green tea, some of which is decaffeinated.

Part of the challenge is to persuade my wife to buy and cook more organic foods and less meat and dairy products. She has quickly come to understand the reasons for my change and is altering her menus. It is fun for her to try new recipes and it makes her feel good to know that she is helping me. Of course she also gets the benefit of healthier eating.

I have not managed to increase my exercise a great deal this month, because one of my main forms of energetic exercise is playing tennis and I have a shoulder injury at the moment which prevents me from playing. The injury has not responded to treatment. I will be trying a new treatment in the coming days.

You’re probably itching to know how much weight I have actually lost. Well, it is 17% of my weight loss target. But that is not the main point. I repeat, this is not a race. We do not approve of sudden large amounts of weight loss. We are turtles, not hares. This is total body remodelling campaign will take time.

It is a journey I am already greatly enjoying.

The first 5 pounds, of the targeted 31 pounds that will be lost, have disappeared and major dietary changes have been made.

I am very happy with my first month’s achievements because I have had to contend with 4 major dinner parties, and an injury which has kept me from my major form of weight loss exercise.

Susanne says: “A good start. Well done David.”

How to Lower Cholesterol

First, we have to acknowledge that the “experts” really do not know exactly what causes cholesterol.

There are some common links between eating and exercise patterns and cholesterol.

However, there is no exact statistical proof of relationships which apply to all people.

For instance some people who eat a lot of animal fats have low cholesterol levels, whilst others who eat only average amounts of animal fats have high cholesterol levels.

There is evidence that cholesterol levels are associated with the consumption of animal fats.

What can you do if your cholesterol levels are too high?

1. If you are overweight, lose weight. Check your Body Mass Index (BMI) using the calculator in the right hand column. If your BMI is over 25 you need to lose weight.

2. Reduce your body fat by taking more exercise. You can read about your body type goneforeverweightloss.com/what-shape/ and the exercises that would be most beneficial to your body shape {goneforeverweightloss.com/exercises-lose-weight/}

3. Reduce you intake of animal fats. Eat less: meat fat, butter, cream, yoghurt, crème fraiche, margarine and polyunsaturated fats.

4. Eat more fruit, vegetables, grains and nuts.

Take a look at the Harvard Food Pyramid below and devise your eating plan accordingly.
