How I Have Lost 19 Pounds, so far…

Well, I made it, today is day 100 of my permanent weight loss campaign.

Remember, I am not on any special fad diet or doing any gym work.

19 pounds have melted away.

It’s the result of clear goal visualization, feeling right about what I am doing, eating lovely fresh food and doing my isometric exercises.

What could be easier?

My belief, you could say, my passionate belief, is that the most important factor in losing weight, and in keeping it off is the way that you feel about what you’re doing.

If you feel that it’s a struggle to lose weight, then it will be a struggle. If you feel that it is the right thing for you to do at this time, then it will be the right thing to do, and you will succeed.

It’s a matter of aligning your feelings about what you’re doing with your target.

This is how it works. It’s a 5 step process. Ask yourself these questions:

1. What don’t I want? You might answer: “I don’t want to be overweight.”

2. What do I want? “I want to be slim (put an exact weight on that).”

3. Clear away your negative thoughts about yourself and losing weight. This is one of the more difficult elements. You may feel that you can’t possibly live without certain foods, but you can. I didn’t think I could enjoy food without alcohol, but I have found out that I can. I will be talking a lot more about clearing away negative thoughts in my forthcoming book “Love Your Body Slim”.

4. Feel right about what you’re doing. You have to have strong emotional feelings about what you want. Seeing your new, slim body and really loving what you see is what it’s all about.

5. Get out of your own way and just let it happen.

Hypnosis has played a significant part. The video I posted on YouTube, Hypnotize Yourself To Lose Weight in 4 Minutes has already been played nearly 500 times. Hypnosis helps me relax and stay out of my own way.

For me it all started to go right when I signed The Slim Pledge.

Take two handfuls of the fat around your waist. Use the “handles” to feel it in your hands for a moment, manipulate it, wobble it about. Do you have too much fat there or is it about right?

Do you like your body with that much fat on it?

Answer now, do you like it or not?

If you don’t like it, how would you prefer it to be?

Close your eyes and imagine your waist as you would prefer it to be. Do you think that a slimmer waist would make you more attractive to someone else?

Would a slimmer waist make you more attractive to you?

If you were more attractive to you, do you think you would find it easier to love yourself?

How would it feel to love yourself more, even just a little bit more?

Close your eyes again, imagine that slimmer waist, see yourself admiring your new slim waist in the mirror and, as you look at the image, feel love for your body welling up inside of you.

How does that feel?

Would you like to feel that feeling more often?

Loving your body is a great feeling. It is a powerful motivator to do something about your body.

Imagine your body as you would love it to be. Create in your heart the loving feeling that you would have when you looked at your body and saw that shape. Make the loving feeling stronger.

Keep the feeling and plan the action you will take to create that body. With that body shape the loving feeling will be permanent.

Once you have the feeling you will constantly find yourself taking action to move your body towards the shape you want it to be. You will find yourself eating more sensibly, exercising more and generally taking better care of the body you love.

From now on, three times a day, imagine your new, slimmer body, and feel, strongly how much you love it.

Start down this road of loving your body by taking The Slim Pledge.

Your life is built on three pillars – your spirit, your mind and your body. You only have one of each. All three need your constant love and care.

But, when did you last tell your body that you love it? Not recently I suspect.

Why not? Isn’t that what a lover would do? Say: “I love your body!”

So, if you don’t tell your body that you love it, is it a sign of how little you love and notice it?

If, for a long period of time, your lover failed to tell you that they loved you, would you start to suspect that their ardour had cooled, that they were taking you for granted?

Don’t feel bad. Most people take their body for granted until pain tells them something is wrong. Or until they cannot fit it into a special item of clothing they want to wear.

But, is it right to take your body for granted? Would yours perform better if it felt loved and cared for?

That depends on the nature of your love and care. If you treat it like a spoilt child and buy it everything it demands like chocolate, fatty foods, cosmetics and expensive clothes, you may gratify it in the short term, but over time it will degenerate, grow fat, become lazy and wrinkly.

But if you truly love it and care for it thoughtfully, feed it with healthy, nutritious foods, exercise it and tone its muscles, it will certainly look better, provide more energy, last longer and make you more proud and confident.

It is the difference between inconsiderate, self-indulgent love and thoughtful, caring love.

Try this exercise now, tell your body, “I love you.”

Stop reading and let the feelings flow.

How did that feel?

Did it seem unnatural, or uncomfortable? Did some parts of your body feel left out? Did they feel that you weren’t talking to them because they’re not worthy of your love?

Is this telling you that some parts of your body are not in as good a shape as you know they could be? Would they be more loveable if you toned them up a bit? With better nutrition and exercise could you make them more attractive?

Love is a powerful motivator. People will travel to the ends of the earth to be with those they love. They will spend fortunes to adorn those they love. They will labour long and hard to provide for those they love. Many vendettas have been caused by love.

Simply by declaring your love for your body, by treating it like a well-loved friend, you will find strong motivation to take the action necessary to get your body into great shape.

Then you’ll get a great benefit, as your body looks better and better, so you’ll become more attracted to it and love it more and more. Then you’ll want to do even more for it. You’ll find yourself caught up in a never-ending upward spiral of bodily improvements which will help create a longer and happier life.

A good place to start your good intention is to sign The Slim Pledge.

If you start your day with a cup of coffee instead of breakfast, here is how to start the practice of eating breakfast.

1. Drink a glass of plain water.

Why: When you wake up in the morning your body is dehydrated (unless you drink some water during the night), so your body needs water, not energy (food). That could be one of the reasons you don’t feel like eating in the morning.

2. After 14 days also drink a glass of fresh juice, like an orange you squeeze yourself.

Why: Juice does not ‘feel’ like food to your body, it does however, provide energy.

3. After another 14 days you are ready for some real food.
Why: It takes about 28 days to make a habit out of a behavior.

Suggestion for breakfast:

1 serving of plain yogurt with muesli or
1 serving of oatmeal porridge with dried fruit or
1 omelet with mushrooms or
2 slices of whole grain or whole wheat bread with cheese and cucumber.

You must promise not to tell Tubby about this, O.K?

I just made a very hypnotic video to help slimmers who want to lose weight.

It features my old friend Confucius. That man spoke an awful lot of sense. But I bet you never knew he was a weight loss expert as well.

The mind control techniques they were using back in 500 b.c. were well in advance of those in use today – you might say.

But the fascinating thing is that so many of them still work. That just goes to show how little we human beings have evolved in the last two and a half thousand years.

The techniques recommended in the video work for nearly everyone I know. So if you want to trim down your waist and tone up your muscles for the beach this summer give it a watch.
